In the rush and hurry of life, we like to feel in control. We make plans and lay out a strategy to do what we want and to get what we want. Lest we be carried away, and think ourselves self-made people, remember:
Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21
The LORD's will is sovereign and supreme. Whatever we think of ourselves, this verse reminds us that his will and not ours, will govern the path of our lives. Let us examine our every motive, act and decision each day, and find ourselves in his will, not free-wheeling out of it.
